One of Africa’s most celebrated female creative writers, Bessie Head’s contributions to African literature can not be overemphasized. Born in South Africa, she blossomed as an international writer in Botswana where she churned out works like When Rain Clouds gather, A question of Power, Maru, The Collector of Treasures, and A bewitched Crossroads.
