Nigeria’s J. P. Clark belongs in the upper echelon of African writers. At his peak, in the 60s and 70s, he was recognised as a top poet and playwright - celebrated author of the stunning drama, Ozidi.
Clark was also a dazzling writer of prose, clearly demonstrated in his work, America their America. He also published critical essays under the title, The example of Shakespeare.
