Efua T. Sutherland during her lifetime did great things for Ghanaian theatre and drama, but her impact extended far beyond her country. Her dynamism and vibrancy impressed the world at large, as she pulled off a string of innovations in the world of drama.
She wrote and staged mainstream plays like The marriage of Anansewa, Foriwa, and Edufa. Sutherland was also very concerned with pertinent literature for children - which led her to publish books like Vulture! vulture!, and Playtime in Africa
