Obi Egbuna, synonymous with ideas of black power, consciousness, and pride, began writing and publishing stories, plays and novels from a young age. Many African readers would insist that his novel, The madness of Didi is an African literary classic.
The madness of Didi incidentally showcases Egbuna’s beliefs in repatriation for Africa by the west, African solidarity etc. But Egbuna published many other works, including –The Anthill, Wind versus Polygamy, The Minister's Daughter, Daughters of the Sun and Other Stories, Emperor of the Sea and Other Stories, The Rape of Lysistrata and Black Candles for Christmas, Black Power or Death, Destroy this Temple: The Voice of Black Power in Britain, The ABC of Black Power Thought – A Nigro Book and The Diary of a Homeless Prodigal
Mr Egbuna is certainly one of the top-notch African writers who should never be forgotten
