Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an internationally renowned Nigerian female writer. She won the Commonwealth writers' prize for best first book in 2003 with her work, Purple hibiscus. She also won the Orange prize for fiction in 2007 with her book, Half of a yellow sun.
An anthology of her short stories, titled The thing around your neck, was published in 2009.
